Who writes Fishing Trips Florida Keys?
Bryan Collins, an angler who has fished the Northeast for more than 30 years, mostly Long Island Sound and Montauk. He is not a captain, owns no boat and has not fished the Keys. Every page here is researched from operators’ own published information and from FWC and NOAA, and says which.
Thirty years on Northeast water
Bryan grew up around New Rochelle, New York, and has fished the Northeast for more than 30 years. Long Island Sound came first, before he was old enough to drive to it. Bluefish, porgies, fluke and stripers, from the shore, off the boat and on the party boats, with enough pogie fishing to know what a good bait day looks like, and Montauk when the run was on.
That is the angle this guide is written from: somebody who knows what a party-boat morning feels like, what a mate actually does, and what a first-timer wishes they had been told before booking.
What he is not
He is not a charter captain, a Florida guide or a Keys local, and he has not fished the Florida Keys. A made-up captain’s byline is the most common shortcut in this category; this site states the real position in the first screen instead.
A captain may review pages here in future. When one does, the byline on that page will name them and say what they checked. No page carries a reviewer today.
How the guide is researched
- Rules come from the regulators. Bag limits, size limits, seasons and licensing come from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and NOAA Fisheries, read on the live pages and dated. What fish you can keep links every limit to its FWC page.
- Prices, policies and departure docks come from the operators. Their own websites and booking pages, read on a stated date. The price page names the operator behind every figure.
- Ratings are Google’s. Shown with the review count and the date read, never averaged or scored by this site. The review roundup summarises what 792 reviewers wrote.
- Gaps stay gaps. Where something could not be verified, the page says so rather than filling it.
Independence and how the site makes money
Fishing Trips Florida Keys owns no boats, employs no captains and runs no trips. It is published by Launch with Bryan LLC.
It earns money through the FareHarbor affiliate program. The “Book online” buttons go to each operator’s own FareHarbor checkout, and when you book through one, the operator pays this site a commission. You pay the operator’s price, nothing added. Nobody pays to be listed, ranked or described a particular way, and operators that earn this site nothing are described the same way as those that do.
